In the 19th century the Spanish companies Bonin, Marret and Figueroa supplied gold and silver to artisans for their work by buying their production from mining companies and through recycling.
In 1920 these companies formed the Sociedad Española de Metales Preciosos S.A., SEMPSA, which throughout the 20th century was the most important refinery in Spain.
Today Sempsa belongs to the German industrial group Possehl through the renowned German refinery Good Delivery, a subsidiary of the Heimerle + Meule group. Located in Madrid, it is the only refinery in Spain with LBMA Good Delivery certification since 1984 and its investment products are currently at the forefront of the sector, as it is committed to implementing the most advanced technologies to offer the best possible product.
